As a Senior Security Engineer, you will enable SIG’s success and growth by working in concert with business and technology groups to provide sound and secure solutions to many of SIG’s most difficult problems. To meet this challenge, you must have a strong understanding of a broad range of technology domains and disciplines coupled with a strong understanding of security philosophies and how to apply these skills to enable SIG’s continued growth. You must also demonstrate hands-on technical mastery, combined with ability to absorb, contribute to and champion holistic architectural models. Essential Functions Design, engineer, and implement security technologies for large and complex technology projects within SIG's existing production environment utilizing existing controls and frameworks

Maintain and enhance existing security technologies which include firewalls, VPNs, end-point security controls, remote access security controls, web and Email security controls and messaging compliance infrastructure

Engage in the design and development of new security technologies in support of enterprise-wide projects across SIG’s expanding technology environment

Manage and troubleshoot advanced and complex technology problems

Manage service delivery projects initiated by the security team

Establish strong relationships with peers to work effectively in a global diverse environment

Conduct technical security assessments; create and maintain technical documentation

Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers

Receive, manage, and execute customer requests for changes to security infrastructure

Participate in 24X7 on-call support rotation schedule Required/Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in a technology related discipline or a minimum of seven (7) years of equivalent technology work experience required

Minimum of five (5) years of information security experience in large scale multi-location environments required

Strong understanding of security principles, philosophies and disciplines and how to apply them to enable SIG’s continued growth critical

Familiarity with industry standards and best practices coupled with the ability to rationalize them to meet SIG’s business objectives necessary

Strong background in firewalls, email and web security, VPNs, intrusion detection, vulnerability & risk assessment, encryption, virus/worm prevention, E-business & web application technologies, two-factor authentication, common Windows (desktop & server) platforms, various UNIX platforms, server hardening, TCP/IP and miscellaneous security related toolsets required

Strong knowledge of routing and switching in LAN & WAN environments, access methods and network topologies critical

Knowledge of cryptography as it relates to computer, application and network security necessary

Experience working in environments with 1000+ systems and enterprise networks essential

Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and communication crucial

Must possess critical thinking/problem solving skills

Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills necessary

Programming, web development and database experience (especially with Perl, UNIX Shell scripting or similar scripting languages, MYSQL, Microsoft SQL or similar database technologies and PHP, ASP.NET or similar web programming languages) a plus

Strong project management skills a plus

Strong knowledge of application security a plus
